- World 1-1 is the 1st level of New Super Mario Bros 2. It is most likely the easiest level of the game, as the levels tend to get harder further into the game. World 1-1 takes place close to the Mushroom Kingdom palace, shortly after Princess Peach is captured.
Goomba: The goomba is the most common of enemies in the Mario series, dating back to the first ever Super Mario game. They are also the easiest to kill. They only walk back and forth, usually left. To kill them, jump on their heads.
Item 1: Near the beginning of the level, there's a '?' Block on top of the red block. Hitting it summons a mushroom, if shrunken Mario, or a fire flower, if grown Mario.
Item 2: When reaching the 2nd path of music notes, there will be a 3-block wide '?' block. Hitting it earns you two coins and either a mushroom, if shrunken Mario, or a fire flower, if grown Mario.
Item 3: Shortly after Item 2, there will be 3 giant blocks, with the highest one being orange-colored. There will be a lonesome brick in the air above it. Hitting it multiple times will earn you coins per hit, and hitting it enough times will give you a "Coin hat" which will give you coins when you walk, run, or jump from a high cliff.
Item 4: After reaching the checkpoint flag, there will be another set of 3 giant blocks. 2 3-block wide '?' blocks will be there. Hitting the left one will give you 2 coins and a mushroom, if shrunken Mario, or a fire flower, if grown Mario.
Item 5: After the 2nd star token (easily able to see), there will be a set of 2 giant blocks, and a lonesome block. Hitting it multiple times will earn you coins per hit, and hitting it enough times will give you a 'Coin hat" which will give you coins when you walk, run, or jump from a high cliff.
Token 1: Coming across the 1st set of music notes, the star token will be above 3 blocks above the music notes. Jump onto the 3-block wide '?' block to the left of the star token and then jump onto the blocks underneath the star token. Then, jump up to get it.
Token 2: Reaching the 1st set of music notes after the flag checkpoint, the star token will be surrounded in blocks. Use the music notes to jump high and break the blocks. Then, time your jump and press the 'A' or 'B' buttons on your 3DS to jump higher, and collect your token. *NOTE: If you are shrunken Mario, you will be unable to break the blocks*
Token 3: The trickiest of the 3 star tokens, before stepping onto the final 3 sets of music notes, all bunched together, there will be a green pipe. Entering it will trigger the cannon inside of it, allowing you to enter a secret area. A button marked with the letter 'P' will be waiting you, and a pathway of coins as well. Pressing the button will turn the coins into blocks, and blue coins will appear for a short time. Following the blue coins to the end will reveal the final token. Run and jump to collect it.
